Indeed the fashion industry has lost one of its lengend and icon.
The Iconic designer Oscar de la Renta died earlier today at the age of 82. The family announced it to the public.

De la Renta was diagnosed with cancer in 2006

Born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, de la Renta left home at 18 to study painting in Madrid. It was there he developed a love of fashion design and began an apprenticeship with Cristóbal Balenciaga, who became his mentor, and then, landed a job with Lanvin in Paris. Soon after, he moved to New York City.

In 1965, the designer launched his own label, and soon caught the eye of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Other first ladies including Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton would follow suit, as well as a bevy of A-list stars, from Amy Adams to Sandra Bullock to Jessica Biel and countless others.
He also launched a successful bridal line, and most recently, designed Amal Clooney's wedding gown.

De la Renta, who won a bevy of fashion awards in his lifetime, including two Council of Fashion Designers Designer of the Year Awards, a CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award and two COTY Awards, always appreciated every moment of his high-profile life.

"A huge mistake we make is forgetting that one day we will die. We think that we are going to live forever. I always say life is a little like a garden. There is a time to plant, then a time you have to weed. Just think about people you've deeply cared for. And then think of the people you wish you'd spent more time with," he told Gotham. "I always say this: Live, love and laugh."
The fashion designer is survived by his wife, Annette, and a son, Moises.

R.I.P Sir you will be missed

Finally, its here.... (Sigh) i have been eagerly (nails biting) awaiting the Genevieve magazine's annual pink ball...and its here.

The 'Pink ball' for those who dont know, is a charity event organized to create awareness for breast cancer, and help provide care and treatment for its victims and survivors.

And we all know, our Nigerian Sisters like to turn up *wink* so it is my responsibility to provide you with all the looks and glam from the red carpet. Whats hot and trending and whats plain NOT! What should have stayed home and what came out to party.

All the pics below; voila!

First on the red carpet... Mrs Toke Makinwa, her dress was designed by April by Kunbi. I always am so expectant, when it comes to seeing what Toke is going to wear for an event!!! Cus the lady loves her fashion.. This baby pink number makes her look all cinderella--ish and i like.

Back view of her dress...april knows her job so well.

Designer Yvone Nwosu gave us a sneak peak via IG as she glamed up for the event! She looks stunning already and i cant wait to see a full look. She is rocking a pony tail which is ideal for this fushia number.

The designer striking a pose with her dog.

Mo chedda rocking a mini tutu baby doll dress and silver sandals to go...the shawl does not flatter nor complement the dress or the swag she is trying to pull off, loose it!!! Still pretty.

She lost the shawl :D and looks better. Go mo chedda!!!

Radio personality Gbemi O...looks chic in this two-piece suit and a pink corset. I admire her choice of outfit, but today, i just wanted everyone to follow the color code!!! (Offender). Regardless, the suit is well tailored and stunning!

Tv Personality, Bolanle olukanni looking simple and chic in a light pink doesnt help that her outfit is almost same color with the drapens and decoration though (kermit mode). Still love ur simplicity.

Tv Personality Marcy Dolapo Oni looking elegante! She is spotting a fushia one hand number and rocking her classic bob. Simple and chic.

Our favorite blogger, Linda Ikeji is spotting a champagne Carmen Macvalvo dress and a Jimmy Choo clutch to go... Linda is an offender tonight breaking the color rules :| (warning). Regardless she showed up looking pretty. Nice!

This is how you turn up for your event looking like a mogul/boss lady... The lady and brain behind the event. ceo Genevieve magazine Betty Irabor looking glamorous in a fushia mesh flowing gown. This lady dosent age and we admire her, nice choice.

Tv/Radio personality moet Abebe strikes a fierce pose in a fushia embroidered number... This background doesn't make things easy lol... Nice hair.

 Moet Abebe and Beverly Naya.

Unfortunately, Osas Ighodaro can never do wrong by her black ball gown with the pink detailed inscriptions...her hair, make up and accessories check check check!!!

Eku Edewor leaves me complety speechless... The shade of pink i really wanted to see on the carpet tonight, but the choice of outfit is horrendous :( she is an offender tonight. Fined!!!

Fade Ogunoro looks totally edgy in this light pink with purple embellished low cut mesh number...she looks pretty, but i would have loved her hair packed differently. Pretty!

                      Another view of Fade's outfit...

Ene lawani simple and chic pairing her pink long number with a Gold belt and matching accessories.

All hail JENIFA! Funke Akindele looks completely radiant at the pink ball...she is stunning in a light pink and white number...her hair and make up totally on point... Adorbs!!!

One of my bests looks so far...Seyi Shay, the singer is stunning!!! Rocking a simple fushia number. The dress is completely flattering her slim figure. Hair and make up on point.

Fushia seems to be the color of the night...Jumai Shaba pretty in a satin number... The dress is pretty and would have done so much better without that hand and the very unflattering bow (kermit).

I will gladly pay Agbani's color breaking fine because, she looks beyond beautiful in this outfit... The former MBGW showed up looking completely beautiful in a gold dress and matching shoes. She paired the look with a pink clutch and she is rocking her conrows like a pro. Kudos!

Striking a pose to show of those legs ;)

The beautiful Stephanie Linus pretty as ever in this pink and white sequence lace number she completes the look with a silver clutch. Pretty.

Miss Tourism 2014 Chinyere Adogu is pretty in the dreamy light pink jumpsuit and matching robe... The looks just reminds me of Olivia pope about to have a nap (kermit mode). She is pretty!

Keep refreshing for more looks...any opinions??? Leave ur comments below!

Today's bombshell of the day; and by bombshell i mean one of my favorite make up artists, fashionistas, bad ass, beautiful, sexy, stylish fashion blogger  AMREZY!!! She stands out easily because she classy and pretty and has a fun approach to her fashion.

Personally, i think to be a successful fashion blogger (seeing that they are tons of bloggers out there)  or a fashion forward person you have to define your style and stand out in ways that make you comfortable. 'Personal comfort' is important. You don't want to go out looking or feeling uncomfortable... when you feel comfortable you feel confident! *wink*
